"Germans Warned of Measles Risk in Switzerland"
Reuters Health Information Services (www.reutershealth.com) (04/09/03)
A measles epidemic in Switzerland has sickened 180 people, primarily in the Wallis and Schwyz states. In advance of the Easter holidays, when many German families travel to Switzerland to go skiing, the German Association of Child and Youth Doctors is warning parents to make sure that both they and their children have received the measles vaccine. The German group noted that approximately 80 percent of the cases are among children and young people; however, it noted that adults should also take precautions.
