"Congo: 700,000 Infants to Be Vaccinated Against Yellow Fever"
Africa News Service (www.allafrica.com) (04/08/03)
In 46 urban centers in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), 700,000 children will be vaccinated against yellow fever this year. The vaccine, which previously was only given to travelers and sometimes in refugee camps, will be given to children at nine months of age, when they receive their measles vaccination. According to UNICEF, children in the DRC are now vaccinated against seven diseases: measles, tuberculosis, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, polio, and yellow fever.
