exclusively should receive vitamin D
supplements to prevent rickets, a
bone-weakening disease that doctors say may
be increasing.
Breast-fed infants should receive vitamin
supplements beginning at two months and
continuing until they begin daily feedings
of least 17 ounces of milk fortified with
vitamin D, the academy said in a policy
statement to be published on Monday in the
journal Pediatrics.
